Job Description

Enphase Energy seeks a Field Service Technician for a six-month temporary assignment on Hawaii's Big Island. You will provide on-site technical support to distribution and installation partners, servicing PV and battery storage systems and coordinating directly with homeowners and internal teams.

About the Role

This position involves field-based service work across an assigned territory with up to 50% travel, including out-of-state trips, overnight stays, and extended assignments lasting up to two consecutive weeks. You will work independently with minimal supervision, responding to customer needs and managing problems through to resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Service Enphase PV and storage systems within your assigned territory
  • Perform onsite testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to evaluate system performance and identify issues
  • Coordinate site visits with homeowners and serve as a liaison between the scheduling team and Enphase Customer Support
  • Complete solar maintenance reports and required documentation accurately and timely
  • Perform microinverter maintenance and updates to the Enlighten monitoring system
  • Install and route conduit, copper piping, and flexible tubing; pull and manage wiring as needed
  • Operate standard field tools including drills, levels, squares, tape measures, and ladders
  • Work regularly on rooftops and elevated structures
  • Review system designs and develop job-specific bills of materials (BOM/BOS)
  • Train and mentor team members on installation techniques and best practices
  • Maintain tool inventory and adhere to tool management standards
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and participate in regular safety training
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes, efficiency, and workmanship standards
  • Possess valid identification acceptable for domestic air travel

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical installation and service
  • Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record; must be insurable
  • Commercial or residential electrical license
  • NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certification
  • Proficiency with computers and multiple applications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read and interpret plan sets
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy and quality
  • Knowledge of and commitment to safety and security procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond constructively to feedback
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to manage change, delays, and unexpected challenges
  • Willingness to learn and apply a variety of tools and techniques related to electrical work
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours as needed
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds of tools and equipment
  • Frequently use hands to handle, grasp, and reach
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, and perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling movements
  • Ascend and descend ladders as required
  • Perform work on rooftops and uneven surfaces, including at heights and in confined spaces
  • Work in outdoor environments in various weather conditions and withstand exposure to electrical hazards

Benefits

Hourly rate range: $29–$42 per hour, based on experience, skills, and location.
