SOLV Energy seeks a Superintendent to oversee solar construction operations at utility-scale projects in Sacramento, CA. This leadership position requires expertise in geotechnical engineering, foundation drilling, and project management to coordinate crews, subcontractors, and resources while maintaining safety and budget compliance.

About the Role

The Superintendent directs the planning and execution of solar construction operations, with responsibility for crew leadership, equipment management, and on-site quality control. This role involves coordinating with engineering teams, interpreting geotechnical data, and adapting to evolving project conditions in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee solar construction operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications
• Manage and lead construction crews, equipment, and subcontractors to meet project deadlines and goals
• Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret geotechnical data, select drilling methods, and optimize foundation designs
• Develop construction schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans; monitor progress and adjust as needed
• Conduct site inspections to assess soil conditions, drilling progress, and quality control
• Implement and enforce safety protocols; conduct regular safety meetings and crew training
• Maintain equipment, order supplies, and manage inventory to support drilling operations
• Troubleshoot technical and equipment issues; implement solutions to ensure project continuity
• Prepare reports, documentation, and stakeholder updates
• Lead foundation drilling projects from start to finish, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion
• Enforce and promote safety culture on-site; ensure all team members adhere to safety regulations
• Maintain high construction quality standards and ensure work meets specifications and client expectations
• Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction; adapt to changing circumstances

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED plus 4 years of related solar or construction experience (qualifying experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis with proven progressive advancement)
• Deep understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and soil mechanics
• Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource management
• Knowledge of drilling equipment, tools, and maintenance procedures
• Knowledge of grouting techniques and procedures
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and industry safety best practices
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities in dynamic construction environments
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and project management software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams
• Union-related experience is a plus
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification or relevant state licensure may be required depending on location and project needs
• Certifications in foundation drilling or construction management are advantageous
