Job Description

Sunrun seeks an Installer for residential solar installation projects in Santa Fe Springs, CA. This role is core to the construction team, working with the Foreperson and Lead Installer to complete PV system installations on rooftops while maintaining rigorous safety standards.

About the Role

As an Installer, you will assemble and install residential solar photovoltaic systems, including module placement, racking, structural mounts, and electrical components. You will prepare job sites, manage inventory, apply weather sealing, and maintain clean work environments. The role offers cross-training opportunities across installation, inspection, and service work through Sunrun's Power+ program, which can improve job security and reduce seasonal downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain personal, crew, and job site safety; participate in safety training and hazard identification
  • Review and manage crew truck inventory at the loading dock
  • Layout and assemble solar modules, racking systems, mechanical and structural mounts, and electrical equipment per project specifications
  • Apply weather sealing to roofing structures and support mechanisms
  • Perform site cleanup and vehicle maintenance to maintain orderly work environments

Requirements

  • Previous solar, construction, or military experience preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to company safety policies and identify and report hazards
  • Ability to work courteously and professionally with customers and coworkers
  • Ability to meet deadlines and performance metrics while working as part of a team
  • Capacity to transport materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to work on rooftops at various angles; frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balancing required
  • Ability to climb ladders and maintain balance on roofs, rafters, and roof tiles
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions including excessive noise, extreme heat and cold, wet environments, and humidity
  • Fine motor skills for manipulation, grasping, and pinching
  • Ability to work safely with fall protection harnesses, ladders, and other personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces
  • Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
  • Ability to distinguish colors including red, black, yellow, white, and green
  • Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate personal protective equipment
