EPC Superintendent (Plymouth, NC)

SOLV Energy seeks an EPC Superintendent to oversee utility-scale solar and battery storage project completion at a full-time jobsite in Plymouth, NC. This position manages field teams and subcontractors across all construction phases and will require travel with scheduled time off every 3 weeks.

About the Role

The Superintendent directs on-site construction operations for utility-scale solar, battery storage, and high-voltage substation projects. You will lead direct reports and subcontractors, maintain stakeholder relationships with project owners and architects, enforce safety and quality standards, and report progress to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Supervise direct reports and subcontractors across all field construction areas, providing guidance and support to ensure project completion
• Recruit, train, coordinate, and mentor the regional field construction team while fostering a culture focused on safety, quality, and collaboration
• Develop and maintain relationships with project owners, architects, and stakeholders to facilitate communication and resolve issues
• Enforce safety procedures and actively participate in the Safety Training Program, ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and NEC regulations
• Set work quality standards; conduct inspections and audits to verify adherence to project specifications and company standards
• Conduct constructability reviews of project designs; identify and develop solutions for potential construction challenges
• Plan and coordinate project logistics, including material ordering, tool procurement, and subcontractor scheduling to prevent delays
• Review all drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submittals; chair or attend pre-job conferences to confirm project readiness
• Maintain and manage Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules to meet project milestones and deadlines
• Partner with the estimating team to develop accurate cost estimates and proposals based on field observations
• Prepare and maintain required documentation, including timesheets, work orders, daily logs, invoice approvals, and punch list records
• Chair or attend regular subcontractor meetings; monitor and track punch list completion
• Provide regular progress updates to executive leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and improvement opportunities
• Perform manual field work when conditions require it
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or equivalent experience (minimum 2 years as assistant superintendent)
• 8 years of field construction experience at a supervisory level (preferred)
• 3 years of experience on utility-scale solar projects (preferred)
• Thorough knowledge of construction methods, practices, regulations, and safety standards, including OSHA, NFPA 70E, and NEC
• Strong knowledge of job scheduling, planning, expediting, and cost control
• Working knowledge of all trades and ability to read and interpret specifications for all crafts
• Experience conducting constructability reviews and collaborating with estimating teams on cost estimation
• Strong problem-solving skills and sense of urgency
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to build and motivate high-performing teams
• Valid driver's license
• Willingness to travel and work on-site with scheduled time off every 3 weeks
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future

Compensation: $107,757.00 – $140,084.00 annually
