Job Description
Enphase Energy, a leading provider of solar, battery, and EV charging products, seeks a Field Service Technician for on-site support across Massachusetts. This role involves diagnosing and servicing residential and commercial photovoltaic and battery storage systems for distribution and installation partners.
About the Role
You will provide field-based technical support and maintenance for Enphase PV and storage systems within an assigned territory. The role requires regular travel of up to 50%, including out-of-state trips and overnight stays of up to two consecutive weeks. You will coordinate directly with homeowners and scheduling teams, perform system diagnostics and maintenance, complete required documentation, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Service Enphase photovoltaic and battery storage systems within the assigned territory
- Perform on-site testing and diagnostics to evaluate system performance and identify issues
- Perform microinverter maintenance and update the Enlighten monitoring system to reflect all changes
- Coordinate site visits and scheduling between customers and the Enphase support team
- Work on rooftops and elevated structures, including installation and routing of conduit, copper piping, and flexible tubing
- Pull and manage wiring as needed for system completion
- Complete solar maintenance reports and required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Utilize standard field tools including drills, levels, squares, tape measures, and ladders
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Participate in regular safety training and adhere to all OSHA safety standards
- Maintain tool inventory and adhere to tool management standards
- Respond promptly to customer needs and deliver high-level customer service
- Train and mentor team members on proper installation techniques and best practices
- Review system designs and develop job-specific bills of materials (BOM/BOS)
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes, efficiency, and workmanship standards
- Travel domestically as required, possessing valid identification acceptable for air travel
- Work outside of regular business hours as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in electrical installation and service
- Commercial or residential electrical license
- NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certification
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record; must be insurable
- Ability to read and interpret plan sets
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy and quality
- Knowledge of and commitment to safety and security procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and respond constructively to feedback
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills
- Flexible and adaptable; able to manage change, delays, and unexpected challenges
- Willingness to learn and apply a variety of tools and techniques related to electrical work
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds of tools and equipment
- Frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, and perform stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling movements
- Ascend and descend ladders as required
- Perform work on rooftops and uneven surfaces at heights and in confined spaces
- Work in outdoor environments in various weather conditions and exposure to electrical hazards
Benefits
This position is eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits, with final compensation determined in accordance with applicable laws and internal equity. The hourly rate range is $23 to $36 and may vary based on experience, skills, and location.
