Sunrun, the nation's largest residential solar and battery company, is hiring an Installer in Orlando, FL to join residential solar installation construction teams. This role offers comprehensive training and career growth opportunities across the full solar lifecycle.
About the Role
You will work alongside Forepersons and Lead Installers to complete residential photovoltaic installations. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship in fast-paced field conditions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain personal, crew, and job site safety at all times; participate in training on products, installation methods, and safety protocols
- Inspect and organize truck inventory and materials at loading dock before mobilizing to job sites
- Assemble and install solar modules, racking systems, mechanical and structural mounts, and electrical components according to project specifications
- Apply weather sealing and flashing to roofing structures and support mechanisms
- Clean up job sites and installation vehicles to maintain orderly work environments
- Identify and report safety hazards; encourage safe work practices among crew members
Requirements
- Previous experience in solar installation, construction, or military service preferred but not required
- Ability to carry and transport materials up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to work on rooftops at various angles and heights, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and balancing
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working with fall protection equipment and personal protective gear
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, humidity, wet environments, and excessive noise
- Fine motor skills for manipulation, grasping, and pinching tasks
- Ability to work safely in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces
- Ability to distinguish color variations (red, black, yellow, white, green)
- Ability to hear and respond to verbal commands and safety warnings
- Ability to work with weather-sealing chemicals using appropriate safety protections
- Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively with customers and coworkers
- Ability to meet deadlines and performance metrics in team-based environments
