HVAC Service Technician

Pearce Services seeks an experienced HVAC technician to service and repair commercial cooling systems at telecom shelter installations on cell tower sites throughout the Abilene, Texas region. This position requires travel within a 60-mile radius and occasional overnight stays.

About the Role

This is a field-based service role focused on maintaining and repairing HVAC equipment in fast-paced telecom environments. You will work independently, respond to service calls including emergency situations, and manage your own schedule across multiple job sites. The position is best suited for self-directed professionals comfortable with extensive travel and remote work.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and replace HVAC system components in commercial telecom shelters
• Perform preventive maintenance and performance checks on cooling systems
• Execute seasonal equipment maintenance and system upgrades
• Respond to service requests and emergency call-outs in a timely manner
• Complete daily work reports accurately and promptly
• Operate company vehicle safely and in compliance with insurance and DOT requirements
• Travel to remote cell tower sites as assigned

Requirements

• EPA Certification (Level 2 or Universal) — required
• 3+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance experience
• Working knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components, including refrigeration systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination
• Compliance with OSHA, FCC, FAA, and EPA safety standards
• Residency within 60 miles of Abilene, Texas
• Availability for occasional after-hours and weekend call-outs
• Capability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in outdoor ambient temperatures

Compensation: $25.00–$35.00 per hour (based on experience). Additional pay may include performance bonuses, referral bonuses, production incentives, tool and fuel stipends, and per diem for overnight travel. Pearce covers all travel costs and provides per diem for overnights.
