Job Description

Sunrun seeks an Installer for residential solar installation projects in Norton, MA. You will work alongside a Foreperson and Lead Installer to assemble and install PV systems on residential rooftops, with a focus on safety, teamwork, and quality craftsmanship.

About the Role

This position is a core member of Sunrun's solar installation construction teams. You will contribute to all phases of residential PV installation—from material preparation and racking assembly through weatherproofing, electrical setup, and site cleanup. The role offers pathways to cross-train across qualification, installation, inspection, and service functions through Sunrun's Power+ program, supporting career growth and job stability in a seasonal industry.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain personal, crew, and jobsite safety; participate in training on products, installation methods, and safety protocols
  • Inventory and stock crew vehicles with required materials and equipment at the loading dock
  • Layout, assemble, and install solar modules, PV racking systems, mechanical and structural mounts, and electrical components per project specifications
  • Apply weather sealing to roofing structures and support mechanisms
  • Clean jobsites and installation vehicles to maintain a safe, orderly work environment
  • Identify and report safety hazards; encourage coworkers to follow safety protocols

Requirements

  • Previous solar, construction, or military experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to transport materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to work on rooftops of varying angles and surfaces, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and balance work
  • Ability to climb ladders safely
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environments, and humidity
  • Fine motor skills for detailed hand manipulation, grasping, and pinching
  • Competency with fall protection harnesses, ladders, and other personal protective equipment
  • Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and shingles without causing damage
  • Ability to distinguish colors including red, black, yellow, white, and green
  • Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces
  • Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
  • Ability to work safely with chemicals using appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Courteous and professional demeanor with customers and coworkers
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and performance metrics as an individual and team member in a fast-paced environment
