Sunrun, America's largest residential solar and battery company, is hiring a Certified Electrician in Shrewsbury, MA. This role leads electrical system installations for residential solar projects and interconnects, with opportunities to work across installation, service, and energy storage systems.
About the Role
You will install and troubleshoot electrical systems on residential solar installations, manage team quality and code compliance, and coordinate with inspectors and homeowners on system upgrades. The role includes work on rooftops, in attics and crawl spaces, and occasional main panel upgrades. Approximately 5% travel is expected.
Responsibilities
- Lead installation of electrical systems connecting solar arrays to grid power on residential properties
- Oversee electrical work quality and ensure compliance with current NEC and local electrical codes
- Complete solar battery installations as assigned
- Diagnose and resolve electrical system issues and malfunctions
- Plan and execute main panel upgrades safely
- Coordinate with branch teams and homeowners on system upgrades and repairs needed to support solar equipment
- Work with local inspectors to meet jurisdictional requirements
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent state/local electrician certification (e.g., wireman license)
- Documented experience installing and repairing electrical systems
- Experience with electrical work involving wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC
- Working knowledge of residential electrical service and distribution panel replacement (preferred)
- Clean driving record and ability to pass driving background check
- Valid driver's license; must be at least 21 years old
- Ability to work on rooftops at various angles and in confined spaces (attics, basements, crawl spaces)
- Capable of lifting and transporting materials up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, and humidity
- Ability to work at heights with proper fall protection equipment
- Ability to distinguish colors (red, black, yellow, white, green) and hear verbal warnings
- Willingness to work in heavy protective equipment including arc flash suits and face shields
