Job Description
Sunrun, America's largest residential solar and battery company, is hiring Installers for the Santa Fe Springs, CA area. This position is part of a team-based solar installation operation where safety, skill development, and career growth are priorities.
About the Role
The Installer works as a core member of a residential solar installation construction crew under the direction of a Foreperson and Lead Installer. You will help execute solar PV system installations on residential properties, including module placement, racking assembly, electrical connections, and site completion.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safety protocols for yourself, crew members, and job sites; participate in safety training and hazard reporting
- Review and stock crew trucks with necessary materials and equipment from loading dock inventory
- Lay out, assemble, and position solar modules, racking systems, mechanical mounts, and electrical components per project specifications
- Apply weather sealing to roofing and building structures
- Clean job sites and installation vehicles to maintain orderly work environments and customer satisfaction
- Work collaboratively to meet project timelines and performance metrics
Requirements
- Previous solar, construction, or military experience preferred but not required
- Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures and ability to identify and report hazards
- Professional and courteous communication with customers and coworkers
- Ability to transport materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Capability to work on rooftops of varying angles and surfaces, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and balance work
- Comfort climbing ladders and working at heights
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, wet environments, and humidity
- Fine motor skills for precise hand work including grasping and manipulation
- Safe use of ladders, fall protection harnesses, and personal protective equipment
- Ability to work safely on rafters, roof tiles, and shingles without causing damage
- Color vision sufficient to distinguish red, black, yellow, white, and green
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawls spaces
- Capable of hearing verbal commands and safety warnings
- Ability to work safely with chemicals and apply appropriate protections
