Advanced BESS Technician

Pearce Services, a leading asset management provider for mission-critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure across North America, seeks an Advanced BESS Technician for its Renewables Energy Storage Systems division. This is a 100% travel position based in the United States, focusing on operations and maintenance of battery energy storage systems at commercial and industrial solar projects.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on battery energy storage system (BESS) equipment
• Execute Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures as an authorized person under properly performed LOTO conditions
• Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions, including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs)
• Interact professionally with vendors and customers
• Support site work as a team member, including supervising field work onsite with focus on safety, quality, and efficiency

Requirements

• 2+ years of electrical proficiency relating to electrical systems and components
• Valid driver's license for at least one year
• Ability to comply with OSHA standards
• Ability to work rotating shifts
• Capacity to work in prolonged standing and ergonomically challenging positions
• Ability to adapt to varied climates
• 2+ years of renewable energy experience (preferred)
• Post-secondary education (preferred)
• OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or NFPA 70E certification (preferred)
