Advanced BESS Technician (Operations and Maintenance)

Pearce Services seeks an Advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician for operations and maintenance work at commercial and industrial solar energy sites in the Mojave, California area. This role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and field support on BESS equipment at local sites; candidates must reside within 50 miles of Mojave.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment
• Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures as an authorized person under proper LOTO conditions
• Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions, including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs)
• Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner
• Support site work as a team member, including supervising field operations with focus on safety, quality, and efficiency

Requirements

• 1–4+ years of hands-on experience with electrical systems and components
• 1–4+ years of renewable energy experience preferred
• Valid driver's license held for at least one year
• OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and/or NFPA 70E certification preferred
• Ability to comply with OSHA standards
• Ability to work rotating shifts
• Ability to perform prolonged standing and work in ergonomically challenging positions
• Ability to work in varied climates
