Job Description

Pearce Services seeks a Wind Turbine Site O&M Technician for its Hoffman, Minnesota location. In this role, you will operate and maintain a wind turbine site, performing troubleshooting, repairs, and routine maintenance on turbine generators and related equipment while ensuring optimal generation, availability, and performance. Occasional travel (5–10%) may be required; this is a local position with no regular per diem eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and identify root causes of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions in wind turbine systems.
  • Execute contractual obligations and daily activities with site leadership, including work on electrical, mechanical, and balance-of-plant equipment.
  • Perform cleaning, assembly, service, and repair tasks on wind turbine generators and related facilities.
  • Lead or assist with daily operational activities as directed by management, with minimal supervision.
  • Complete and maintain company and client documentation using computer-based service reporting tools.
  • Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally in accordance with company policy and insurance requirements.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of troubleshooting and/or maintenance experience on wind turbines.
  • 2–3 years of wind turbine mechanics experience (preferred).
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English for safe job performance, technical instruction interpretation, and team/customer communication.
  • Inventory control experience (preferred).
  • Ability and willingness to climb a wind turbine vertically at least 300 feet.
  • Weight between 120 and 280 pounds (including clothing and boots) for OSHA safety compliance.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing more than 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in outdoor and indoor environments in adverse weather conditions, including exposure to pollen, dust, and grasses.
  • Ability to walk up to 3 miles per day on varied terrain (gravel, pavement, grass, etc.).
  • All required certifications for the position must be maintained.
