Job Description

Pearce Services, a leading provider of asset management and technical services for mission-critical infrastructure across North America, is hiring a Traveling Lead HVAC Installation Technician based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This position involves installing and upgrading commercial HVAC cooling systems at client sites, with travel required up to three weeks at a time (approximately 90% overnight travel). The role demands strong technical expertise, project management on-site, and adherence to safety and code compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform HVAC installation, replacement, and upgrades of commercial cooling systems to meet quality, budget, and timeline specifications
  • Manage on-site workflow and project scheduling to complete installations efficiently
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents
  • Install supply and return ductwork, including backdraft dampers, according to specifications
  • Conduct performance testing and quality control checks on installed and upgraded systems
  • Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal mechanical and electrical codes
  • Complete daily reports and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Travel to remote work sites as assigned

Requirements

  • EPA Universal Certification (required)
  • Minimum 10 years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC installation and servicing experience
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical HVAC system components
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and mechanical specifications
  • Experience installing wall-mounted MarvAir, Bard, and MarvAir DAC/WAC direct air-cooling units (preferred)
  • Forklift and crane operation certification (preferred)
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass DOT physical examination
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Fort Wayne, Indiana area
  • Ability to work up to three weeks at a time while traveling
