Job Description
Sunrun seeks a Certified Electrician for residential solar and battery installations in Greenfield, MA. In this role, you will lead electrical system installations connecting solar arrays to grid power, oversee workmanship and code compliance across your team, and troubleshoot system issues on customer properties. The position includes approximately 5% travel and offers hourly pay from $46.61 to $62.15, plus performance incentives and benefits through Sunrun's Power+ employee development program.
Responsibilities
- Lead installation of electrical systems interconnecting solar arrays to residential grid power
- Oversee electrical work performed by other installers to ensure compliance with current NEC and local electrical codes
- Install solar battery systems as assigned
- Diagnose and resolve electrical system problems and integration issues
- Plan and safely execute main panel upgrades (MPU)
- Coordinate with branch team and homeowners to complete necessary system upgrades and repairs supporting solar equipment
- Interface with local inspectors to meet jurisdictional code requirements
- Perform additional assigned duties as needed
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent state/local electrical certification (e.g., wireman license)
- Hands-on experience with electrical installation and repair
- Working knowledge and experience with wiring systems up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC
- Experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels (preferred)
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to pass background check
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to work on rooftops of varying angles and surfaces, requiring frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and balancing
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including excessive heat, cold, moisture, and humidity
- Ability to use ladders, fall protection harnesses, and other personal protective equipment safely
- Ability to work while wearing heavy protective equipment such as arc flash suits and face shields
- Ability to maintain balance and safely walk on roofs, rafters, and roof tiles without causing damage
- Ability to distinguish colors including red, black, yellow, white, and green
- Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
- Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate personal protection
- Fine motor skills including manipulation, grasping, and pinching for electrical connections
