Job Description

Sunrun, America's largest dedicated residential solar and storage company, seeks a Certified Electrician to lead electrical installations and system upgrades on residential solar projects in Springfield, MA. You'll work across a range of tasks—from grid interconnection and main panel upgrades to battery storage installation and troubleshooting—on both new solar systems and existing customer equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical installation of solar array interconnection to residential grid power
  • Oversee electrical work performed by team members for code compliance (NEC and local standards)
  • Complete solar battery storage installations as assigned
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical system problems
  • Plan and execute main panel upgrades (MPU) safely
  • Coordinate with branch teams and homeowners on system upgrades and repairs
  • Interface with local inspectors to meet permitting and inspection requirements
  • Travel approximately 5% for job assignments

Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License or state/local equivalent certification
  • Hands-on experience with residential electrical installation and repair
  • Demonstrated experience with DC wiring up to 600 VDC and AC wiring up to 480 VAC
  • Working knowledge of residential electrical service and distribution panel replacement
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to pass background check
  • Ability to lift and transport materials up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to work safely on rooftops at various angles and heights, including climbing, balancing, and use of fall protection equipment
  • Ability to work in confined spaces (attics, basements, crawl spaces)
  • Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions (heat, cold, wet, humidity, noise)
  • Fine motor skills for precise hand functions (manipulation, grasping, pinching)
  • Ability to safely wear and work in heavy protective equipment (arc flash suits, gloves, face shields)
  • Color vision to distinguish red, black, yellow, white, and green
  • Ability to hear and respond to verbal commands and safety warnings
  • Ability to work safely with chemicals and appropriate protection
  • 21 years of age or older
