Job Description

Sunrun, the largest dedicated residential solar and storage company in the United States, is hiring a Solar Sales Representative for the Parsippany, NJ area. This is a direct-sales, commission-based role focused on acquiring residential customers for rooftop solar and battery storage solutions. You will manage a defined territory, conduct door-to-door outreach and referral follow-up, present solar financing options, and guide homeowners through the sales process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales activities within an assigned residential territory
  • Conduct door-to-door prospecting, network with homeowners, and follow up on referrals
  • Present solar and battery storage solutions to qualified leads, explain financing structures, and close sales
  • Educate homeowners on the benefits of solar energy, cost savings, and energy independence
  • Track sales activities, monitor pipeline, and achieve monthly and quarterly performance targets
  • Attend weekly training and development meetings to refine sales techniques and strategies

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid California Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS) License required; candidates without the license will be hired initially as a Sales Scheduler at minimum wage (capped at 35 hours/week) and transition to this role upon obtaining the license
  • Prior direct sales or commission-based sales experience preferred
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work outdoors, walk for extended periods, and operate in various weather conditions
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to learn and adapt in a performance-driven environment
