Sunrun, the largest dedicated residential solar and storage company in the United States, is hiring Installers for the Bay Area South branch in California. You'll work as part of a solar installation construction team alongside a Foreperson and Lead Installer to complete residential PV projects from layout and assembly through final cleanup, with opportunities to cross-train across sales, installation, inspection, and service roles.
Responsibilities
Maintain personal, crew, and job site safety at all times; participate in training on new products, installation methodology, and safety protocols
Review and stock assigned crew truck with necessary inventory and materials at the loading dock
Complete layout and assemble solar modules, racking systems, mechanical and structural mounts, and electrical equipment according to project specifications
Apply weather sealing to roofing structures, building elements, and support mechanisms
Perform job site cleanup including customer site and installation vehicle to maintain orderly work environments
Requirements
Previous solar, construction, or military experience preferred but not required
Ability to transport materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and balance work
Ability to climb ladders
Ability to work safely with fall protection harnesses and other personal protective equipment
Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without causing damage
Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces
Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environments, and humidity
Ability to work in sunlight and low-light conditions
Fine motor skills for manipulation, grasping, and pinching tasks
Ability to distinguish colors including red, black, yellow, white, and green
Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
Ability to work safely with chemicals using appropriate protections
