Job Description

Sunrun, the largest residential solar and storage company in the United States, is hiring Solar Sales Representatives in Sacramento, CA. This is a commission-based, direct sales role focused on residential solar and battery storage solutions. You'll develop territory sales, present solar financing options to homeowners, and guide them through the process of switching to clean energy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage sales within an assigned residential territory
  • Conduct door-to-door outreach, network with homeowners, and follow up on referrals
  • Present solar and battery storage solutions to prospective customers
  • Explain financing options and guide customers through the decision and enrollment process
  • Educate homeowners on cost savings, clean energy benefits, and energy independence
  • Track sales activities and performance metrics against established goals
  • Attend weekly training meetings to develop sales skills and stay current on product knowledge

Requirements

  • 18 years or older
  • Valid California Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS) License (required to transition into the direct seller role; candidates without this license may be hired as Sales Scheduler at minimum wage, capped at 35 hours/week, and transition upon obtaining the license)
  • Direct or commission-based sales experience preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors and walk for extended periods in various weather conditions
  • Availability for flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends

  • Uncapped commission structure; top 10% of sales specialists earn $300,000+; average first-year compensation in California ranges from $60,000 to $90,000 depending on personal performance
