Job Description

Sunrun seeks a Lead Installer for residential solar installation work at the Bay Area South, CA branch. You will supervise and coordinate installation crews while performing hands-on PV module assembly, racking installation, and electrical work on rooftop and interior spaces. This role offers the chance to develop skills across Sunrun's vertically integrated solar and battery installation operations through the Power+ cross-training program.

Responsibilities

  • Verify crew truck inventory and material staging at job start
  • Lay out and assemble solar modules, racking systems, mechanical and structural mounts, and electrical components per project specifications
  • Apply weather sealing to roofing structures and support mechanisms
  • Install PV racking and module arrays according to design plans
  • Maintain clean, orderly job sites and perform site cleanup at project completion
  • Enforce safety protocols for crew and site; identify and report hazards
  • Lead crews through safe and efficient installation execution
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to crew members
  • Assist with solar battery storage installations when assigned
  • Act as Foreperson in the absence of the assigned Foreperson
  • Participate in mandatory product, methodology, and safety training sessions

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Documented solar installation experience required; equivalent construction or military experience may be considered
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving background check
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to work on rooftops at various angles, requiring frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, balancing, and crawling
  • Ability to work in confined spaces including attics, basements, and crawl spaces
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, wet conditions, humidity, and excessive noise
  • Ability to operate ladders, fall protection harnesses, and other personal protective equipment safely
  • Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and shingles without causing damage
  • Color vision capability to distinguish red, black, yellow, white, and green
  • Ability to hear and respond to verbal commands and safety warnings
  • Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate protective measures
  • Willingness to participate in cross-training through the Power+ program
  • 5% travel required
