Sunrun, the nation's largest residential solar and battery company, seeks an Installer for its Bay Area South, CA branch. You'll work alongside a Foreperson and Lead Installer to complete residential rooftop solar installations, handling module placement, racking assembly, electrical components, and site preparation. This role offers a clear path into Sunrun's vertically integrated operation, where installers develop skills across qualification, installation, inspection, and service work.
Responsibilities
Maintain personal, crew, and job site safety; participate in training on new products, installation methods, and safety protocols
Review truck inventory at loading dock to confirm adequate stocking for assigned crew
Lay out and assemble solar modules, racking systems, mechanical and structural mounts, and electrical equipment per project specifications
Apply weather sealing to roofing structures and support mechanisms
Clean up job sites and installation vehicles to maintain orderly work environments
Requirements
Previous solar, construction, or military experience preferred but not required
Ability to transport materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
Ability to work on rooftops of varying angles and surfaces, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and balancing
Ability to climb ladders
Ability to work in outdoor conditions: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environments, and humidity
Fine motor skills for manipulation, grasping, and pinching
Ability to work safely with ladders, fall protection harnesses, and other personal protective equipment
Ability to maintain balance on roofs and heights
Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without causing damage
Ability to distinguish colors (red, black, yellow, white, green)
Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces
Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate personal protective equipment
Adherence to company safety policies and procedures, including identifying and reporting hazards
Ability to work courteously with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced team environment
