Job Description

Sunrun, the largest residential solar and battery company in the United States, is seeking an Installer for its South Operations regional team based in New Jersey. As part of a solar installation construction crew, you will work alongside a Foreperson and Lead Installer to complete residential PV system installations, handling module assembly, racking, electrical equipment setup, and site preparation. This role emphasizes hands-on technical work, job-site safety, and collaboration within a vertically integrated company structure that spans sales, installation, inspection, and service.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain personal, crew, and job-site safety; participate in training on products, installation methods, and safety protocols
  • Review and stock crew vehicle with materials and equipment at the loading dock before deployment
  • Assemble and position solar modules, racking systems, mechanical and structural mounts, and electrical components according to project specifications
  • Apply weather sealing to roofing structures and support mechanisms
  • Clean up job sites and installation vehicles to maintain orderly work environments

Requirements

  • Previous solar, construction, or military experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to transport and lift materials up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to work safely on rooftops of varying angles and surfaces, requiring frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, standing, and balance
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights using fall protection equipment and personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions including extreme heat, cold, wet environments, humidity, and excessive noise
  • Fine motor skills for manipulation, grasping, and pinching
  • Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces
  • Ability to hear verbal commands and safety warnings
  • Ability to distinguish colors including red, black, yellow, white, and green
  • Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate protective measures
