Sunrun, the nation's leading home solar and battery company, seeks an Installer to join its residential solar installation team at the Bay Area North branch in California. Working alongside a Foreperson and Lead Installer, you'll assemble and install solar modules, racking, electrical components, and mounting systems on residential rooftops. The role emphasizes job-site safety, hands-on technical work, and collaboration with crew members to complete projects according to specifications.
Responsibilities
Maintain personal, crew, and job-site safety; participate in training on new products, installation methods, and safety protocols
Inspect and organize truck inventory at the loading dock to confirm crew materials are stocked for assigned jobs
Layout, assemble, and install solar modules, racking systems, mechanical and structural mounts, and electrical equipment per project specifications
Apply weather sealing to roofing structures and support mechanisms
Clean up job sites and work vehicles to maintain orderly, professional conditions
Requirements
Previous solar, construction, or military experience preferred but not required
Ability to transport and handle materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance
Ability to work on rooftops of various angles and surfaces, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and balance work
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights with fall protection equipment
Ability to work safely on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without causing damage
Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environments, and humidity
Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces
Fine motor skills for hand functions including manipulation, grasping, and pinching
Ability to distinguish colors including red, black, yellow, white, and green
Ability to hear and respond to verbal commands and safety warnings
Ability to work with chemical sealants using appropriate protective equipment
