Job Description

Sunrun, the nation's largest residential solar and battery company, is seeking a Solar Sales Representative for its San Luis Obispo, CA territory. This is a direct-sales, commission-based role focused on residential solar solutions, supported by Sunrun's vertically integrated model that covers the full customer lifecycle from sale through installation and service.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage sales activity within an assigned residential territory
  • Conduct door-to-door outreach, network with homeowners, and follow up on referrals
  • Present solar and battery storage solutions to prospective customers
  • Explain financing options and guide customers through the sales process
  • Educate homeowners on cost savings, clean energy benefits, and energy independence
  • Track sales activities and maintain performance metrics
  • Attend weekly training sessions to develop skills and improve earnings

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years old
  • Valid California Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS) License, or willingness to obtain it (candidates without license initially hired as Sales Scheduler at minimum wage, capped at 35 hours/week, with transition to full Solar Sales Direct Seller role upon license acquisition)
  • Direct or commission-based sales experience preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors and walk extended periods in various weather conditions
  • Availability for flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
