Job Description

Sunrun, America's largest home solar and battery company, is hiring a Solar Sales Representative for its Port City Solar office in California. You'll engage directly with homeowners in a designated territory, educating them on solar energy systems, financing options, and installation processes, and guiding them through the complete sales cycle. This is a commission-only role with uncapped earning potential and a flexible schedule after an initial training period.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow residential solar sales within an assigned geographic territory
  • Conduct door-to-door canvassing, networking, and lead generation from referrals to identify potential customers
  • Educate homeowners on solar energy benefits, including cost savings, environmental impact, and energy independence
  • Deliver in-depth sales consultations explaining solar systems, financing structures, and installation timelines
  • Follow up regularly with prospects to answer questions and facilitate the decision-making process
  • Track sales activities and performance metrics against sales targets
  • Provide customer service support throughout the sales process and post-installation to encourage referrals and repeat business
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to develop sales skills and industry knowledge

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
  • Prior direct sales, commission-based sales, or retail sales experience (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
  • Comfortable working outdoors and walking for extended periods in various weather conditions
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate homeowner availability
