Senior Estimator - Electrical Construction

Rosendin Electric, one of the largest electrical contractors in the United States and the largest employee-owned company in its industry, seeks a Senior Estimator for its Gallatin, TN location. In this lead role, you will prepare comprehensive bid and cost estimates for electrical construction projects, mentor junior estimators, and coordinate with suppliers and customers to ensure competitive, accurate proposals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs and complete electrical construction estimates using approved estimating software
• Review project specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to establish scope of work and estimate requirements
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering analysis
• Provide leadership to estimators preparing discipline-specific sub-estimates on assigned bids
• Develop labor productivity rates and installation unit costs based on site conditions and historical performance data
• Solicit, review, and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotes for completeness and specification compliance
• Maintain detailed documentation and working files supporting all estimate figures
• Draft scope and proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects
• Conduct detailed estimate reviews with Chief Estimator prior to bid package release, covering scope, technical requirements, and pricing
• Meet with Project Management at successful bid turnover to explain job scope, areas of attention, and transition requirements
• Ensure timely completion of all client-required documents

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 4 years' experience estimating or in related electrical construction estimate closing
• Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering design drawings
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Experience with Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam software preferred
• CAD or 3D software experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally
• Travel up to 10% as needed
