Senior Electrical Estimator - Texas

Rosendin Electric, one of the largest employee-owned electrical contractors in the United States, is hiring a Senior Electrical Estimator for its Pflugerville, Texas office. In this leadership role, you will prepare detailed cost estimates and bid documents for electrical construction projects, mentor junior estimators, and coordinate with suppliers and project management teams to ensure competitive and accurate bids. On-site work required; relocation assistance provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete cost estimates and bid/submittal documents from quantity take-offs and project specifications
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine project scope
• Lead and provide oversight to junior estimators and personnel preparing discipline sub-estimates
• Identify qualified suppliers and subcontractors; solicit, review, and evaluate quotes for completeness and conformance with plans and specifications
• Develop labor productivity standards and installation unit costs based on projected site conditions and historical data
• Prepare detailed material and equipment listings and obtain supplier quotes
• Conduct value engineering analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Draft scope and proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects
• Provide Chief Estimator with detailed pre-bid review of scope, technical requirements, and pricing
• Conduct post-award project turnover meetings with Project Management to explain scope and transition considerations
• Maintain organized files of all working documents and backup estimate figures
• Update estimating software and ensure all documentation meets client requirements and company standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 4 years of estimating experience or other relevant construction estimating background
• Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering design drawings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam software preferred
• Experience with CAD or 3D software preferred
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating
• Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, type, and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
