Estimator

Rosendin Electric seeks an Estimator I for its Sacramento, CA office. This entry-level, salaried position supports the preparation of bid documents and cost estimates for electrical construction projects, working under general supervision on small to medium projects across the company's portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and estimate requirements
• Prepare cost estimates using established procedures, including complete takeoffs and data entry into the computer estimating system
• Verify estimate printouts for accuracy and completeness
• Solicit and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors against plans and specifications
• Collaborate with senior-level estimators to review scope, technical requirements, and pricing for bid packages
• Draft scope letters documenting inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications using existing templates
• Maintain working document files to support estimating assumptions and methodologies
• Meet client-required documentation deadlines

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• 0–2 years of experience estimating commercial construction projects, preferably electrical
• Basic experience or exposure with Accubid estimating software
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and front-end documents
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating
• Ability to work under time pressure and manage multiple tasks with changing priorities
• Up to 10% travel

Working Conditions

• Primarily indoor office environment with fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
• Extended periods of sitting, with occasional standing, walking, and typing
• Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs
• Noise level typically low to medium; can be louder on job sites
