Estimator

Rosendin Electric seeks an Estimator I for its Coppell, TX office to support bid preparation and cost estimation for electrical construction projects. This entry-level, salaried role involves learning established estimating procedures under the guidance of senior estimators while working on small to medium electrical projects.

Responsibilities

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and estimate contents
• Calculate complete takeoffs and enter data into the computer estimating system
• Review estimate printouts for accuracy and completeness
• Solicit and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors against plans and specifications
• Assist senior-level estimators in preparing detailed scope, technical requirements, and pricing reviews for bid packages
• Draft scope letters covering inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications using existing templates
• Maintain files and documentation of estimating assumptions and methodologies
• Support timely completion of client-required documents

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• 0–2 years of experience in commercial construction estimating, preferably electrical
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Basic experience or exposure with Accubid estimating software
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents
• Competency with arithmetic calculations and computerized cost data
• Capacity to work under time pressure, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities
• Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs
• Work conducted primarily indoors; up to 10% travel
