Senior Electrical Estimator

Rosendin Electric, one of the largest employee-owned electrical contractors in the United States, seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator for its Tempe, AZ office. In this role, you will lead the preparation of comprehensive bid and cost estimate packages for electrical construction projects, mentor junior estimators, and serve as the primary liaison between estimating, project management, and clients during bid transitions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates from quantity take-offs and deliver final estimates using estimating software
• Review project specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings; attend pre-bid meetings to confirm scope of work
• Identify key project elements affecting competitiveness and areas for value engineering and cost savings
• Supervise and provide leadership to junior estimators and personnel preparing discipline-specific sub-estimates
• Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs based on projected site conditions and historical project data
• Create detailed material and equipment listings; solicit and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for completeness and specification compliance
• Maintain organized working documents and files backing up all estimate figures and calculations
• Draft scope and proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects
• Conduct detailed pre-bid review with Chief Estimator covering scope, technical requirements, and pricing
• Meet with Project Management at project turnover to explain scope, risk areas, and transition requirements
• Update and maintain Rosendin-approved estimating software and databases

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 4 years of estimating experience or equivalent relevant construction experience
• Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering design drawings
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience with Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam software preferred
• CAD or 3D software experience preferred
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs occasionally
• Travel up to 10% as needed
