Job Description
Rosendin Electric, one of the largest employee-owned electrical contractors in the United States, is hiring a Civil-Mechanical On-Site Superintendent to lead civil and mechanical construction activities on substation, battery energy storage system (BESS), and large-scale solar projects across RREG Projects in Texas. This role manages earthwork, foundations, racking installation, and related mechanical scopes while coordinating subcontractors and self-perform crews to meet schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and enforce safety compliance with Rosendin's Safety Program, OSHA requirements, and site-specific safety plans
- Oversee all on-site civil construction activities including earthwork, grading, trenching, foundations, roadways, fencing, drainage, and utilities
- Oversee structural and mechanical construction including pile installation, foundation construction, racking and structure installation, and drill installations
- Manage and coordinate civil and mechanical subcontractors and self-perform crews to meet project schedule and budget
- Participate in pre-construction planning including review of civil and mechanical design documents, constructability analysis, and sequencing
- Maintain daily logs, production tracking, and documentation of site activities and progress
- Ensure compliance with environmental and stormwater controls (SWPPP)
- Coordinate with QA/QC personnel on materials testing, compaction testing, and concrete placement verification
- Support scheduling and coordination of material deliveries and equipment mobilization
- Identify and resolve field conflicts, design discrepancies, and unforeseen conditions
- Lead field meetings with subcontractors, crews, and client representatives
- Support training of field leadership and craft personnel
- Assist in project closeout including punch list completion, as-built documentation, and final civil inspections
Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of supervisory experience in civil construction, preferably on renewable energy, substation, or infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated experience leading subcontracted or self-perform field crews on multi-million-dollar projects
- Ability to interpret civil drawings, grading plans, geotechnical reports, and structural specifications
- Working knowledge of mass grading, soil stabilization, concrete foundations, and underground utilities
- Working knowledge of erosion control and stormwater management compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Scheduling software experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 75% depending on project assignment
