Senior Estimator

Rosendin Electric, one of the largest employee-owned electrical contractors in the United States, seeks a Senior Estimator for its Coppell, TX office. In this lead estimating role, you will prepare detailed bid and cost estimates for electrical construction projects, mentor junior estimators, and collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and project management teams to ensure accurate and competitive proposals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates and bid documents from quantity take-offs and coordinate completion to final printout
• Review project specifications, blueprints, and drawings; attend pre-bid meetings to define scope of work and estimate requirements
• Identify and evaluate value engineering opportunities to reduce project costs
• Provide leadership to junior estimators preparing discipline sub-estimates for assigned bids
• Develop labor productivity rates and installation unit costs based on site conditions and historical project data
• Compile detailed material and equipment lists and solicit competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
• Review supplier and subcontractor quotes for completeness and compliance with plans and specifications
• Draft scope and proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects
• Present detailed bid package reviews to the Chief Estimator, including scope, technical requirements, and pricing analysis
• Conduct project turnover meetings with Project Management to explain job scope, technical considerations, and critical transition points
• Maintain complete documentation and working files supporting all estimate figures
• Update and maintain estimating software and databases with approved Rosendin standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 4 years of estimating or related experience in electrical construction
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering design drawings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam (preferred)
• Experience with CAD or 3D software (preferred)
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and cost analysis for project estimates
• Capacity to coordinate and supervise group estimating efforts
• Capability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs occasionally
• Up to 10% travel
