Senior Electrical Estimator

Rosendin Electric, one of the largest electrical contractors in the United States and employee-owned, seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator for the Coppell, TX office. You will lead estimation efforts on complex electrical construction projects, managing cost estimates, bid documents, and coordination with estimators, suppliers, and clients while mentoring junior estimating staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid/submittal documents from quantity take-offs and project specifications
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine project scope and estimate requirements
• Identify high-impact project components and opportunities for value engineering cost savings
• Supervise and mentor other estimators preparing discipline-specific sub-estimates for assigned bids
• Develop labor productivity rates and installation unit costs based on site conditions and historical performance data
• Generate detailed material and equipment listings; solicit and review supplier and subcontractor quotes for completeness and specification compliance
• Identify qualified suppliers and subcontractors and manage the quotation process
• Prepare scope and proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects
• Conduct comprehensive bid package review with the Chief Estimator prior to formal issue, covering scope, technical requirements, and pricing
• Transition awarded projects to Project Management, explaining job scope, risk areas, and critical execution factors
• Maintain organized files and supporting documentation for all estimate figures; update estimating software records

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience)
• Minimum 4 years of estimating experience or other relevant construction estimating background
• Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering design drawings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam (preferred)
• Experience with CAD or 3D software (preferred)
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating
• Capacity to work under pressure, manage multiple concurrent tasks, and adapt to changing requirements
• Up to 10% travel
• Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, type, carry, push, and bend; occasional lifting up to 30 lbs
