Electrical Estimator

Rosendin Electric, one of the largest employee-owned electrical contractors in the United States, seeks an Electrical Estimator II for its Tempe, Arizona office. This mid-level position involves preparing cost estimates and bid documents for commercial electrical construction projects, working with senior-level estimators on small- to medium-sized projects and presenting findings to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Review proposal specifications and engineering drawings to determine scope of work and project requirements
• Prepare cost estimates by performing complete takeoffs and entering data into computerized estimating systems
• Review estimate printouts for accuracy and completeness
• Identify qualified suppliers and subcontractors, solicit and review quotes for compliance with plans and specifications
• Quantify and itemize all project incidentals including subcontract work, equipment rental, tools, and supplies
• Provide guidance to personnel preparing completion matrices for assigned bids
• Develop labor productivity and installation unit costs based on projected site conditions and historical data, in conjunction with senior estimators
• Compile scope of work, address technical requirements and pricing, and present bid packages to Lead Estimator, Estimating Manager, and Chief Estimator
• Meet with project management team and senior-level estimator after bid award to explain estimate details, scope, quotes, and support project transition
• Ensure timely completion of all client-required documents
• Prepare scope letters detailing inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications
• Maintain files of working documents supporting estimating assumptions and methodologies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience estimating commercial construction projects, preferably in electrical construction
• Proficiency in Accubid estimating software
• Proficiency in CAD or 3D software (preferred)
• Advanced knowledge of construction technology, estimating techniques, and cost control
• Ability to interpret computerized cost data and electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering design drawings, specifications, and front-end documents
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally
• Up to 10% travel
