Senior Electrical Estimator

Rosendin Electric, one of the largest electrical contractors in the United States and the largest employee-owned firm in the industry, seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator for its Tempe, AZ office. In this role, you will lead the preparation of bid and cost estimate packages for electrical construction projects, working across blueprints, specifications, and coordination with suppliers, subcontractors, and project management teams to deliver competitive, detailed estimates that support successful project transitions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete cost estimates from quantity take-offs and deliver computer-generated estimate outputs
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, and project documentation; attend pre-bid meetings to define scope and estimate requirements
• Lead and supervise other estimators in preparing discipline-specific sub-estimates for assigned bids
• Develop labor productivity rates and installation unit costs based on projected site conditions and historical data
• Identify and qualify suppliers and subcontractors; solicit, review, and validate quotes for completeness and compliance with plans and specifications
• Evaluate value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives
• Prepare detailed material and equipment listings for estimates
• Draft scope and proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects
• Conduct detailed pre-bid reviews with the Chief Estimator covering scope, technical requirements, and pricing
• Meet with Project Management at bid award to explain job scope, risks, and transition requirements
• Maintain organized files and documentation supporting all estimate figures and assumptions
• Update and maintain records in Rosendin's approved estimating software

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 4 years of estimating or relevant construction estimating experience
• Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering design drawings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Proficiency with Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam software (preferred)
• Experience with CAD or 3D software (preferred)
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and manage multiple concurrent estimates
• Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, type, and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
• Travel up to 10% as needed
