Job Description

Rosendin Electric, one of the largest employee-owned electrical contractors in the United States, seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator for our Tempe, Arizona office. In this lead estimating role, you will prepare and manage bid and cost estimate documents for electrical construction projects, mentor junior estimators, and coordinate with suppliers and clients to ensure accurate, competitive project pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates from quantity take-offs and complete estimates using Rosendin's approved estimating software
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and estimate requirements
  • Identify and evaluate value engineering opportunities to reduce project costs while maintaining quality and compliance
  • Supervise and provide leadership to junior estimators and personnel preparing discipline-specific sub-estimates on assigned bids
  • Develop labor productivity rates and installation unit costs based on projected site conditions and historical project data
  • Prepare detailed material and equipment listings; identify qualified suppliers and subcontractors and solicit competitive quotes
  • Review supplier and subcontractor quotes for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with plans and specifications
  • Ensure timely completion of all client-required proposal documents and scope letters for both bid and negotiated projects
  • Conduct detailed pre-award reviews of scope, technical requirements, and pricing with the Chief Estimator
  • Meet with Project Management at project turnover to explain job scope, highlight areas requiring attention, and facilitate smooth transition
  • Maintain organized project files and working documents that support all estimate figures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on estimating experience or directly relevant experience closing construction estimates
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering design drawings
  • Demonstrated ability to perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with Accubid estimating software, Livecount Cloud, and Bluebeam software preferred
  • Experience with CAD or 3D software preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple concurrent tasks, and adapt to changing project requirements
  • Up to 10% travel
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs; work conducted primarily indoors with extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and typing
