Job Description

SOLV Energy seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support utility-scale solar and battery storage project delivery at a full-time, on-site position in Plymouth, NC. You will report to the Project Manager, overseeing project administration, cost control, scheduling, procurement, and coordination of engineering and clerical staff on a 200MW+ solar or substation construction project. This role requires travel; specific site details will be discussed during the interview.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all Project Engineer job responsibilities as assigned
  • Maintain cost control ledgers and prepare job cost statements
  • Generate billings and expedite payment processing
  • Estimate, prepare, and negotiate Change Orders and subcontract amendments
  • Set up, configure, and maintain the CMiC project management system
  • Prepare bid packages; solicit, evaluate, and award subcontractor bids
  • Write and review project procedures and specifications
  • Prepare Purchase Orders and equipment Rental Agreements
  • Supervise and train Project Engineers and clerical staff
  • Review construction plans for completeness and accuracy
  • Complete additional responsibilities as directed by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or equivalent hands-on construction experience
  • Field experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent
  • 3–4 years of construction project experience
  • 1+ years of scheduling and estimating experience
  • 1–2 years of utility-scale solar or substation construction experience (200MW or above) preferred
  • Thorough understanding of construction plans and specifications
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills
