EPC Project Manager, Utility Scale Solar (Harrisburg, IL)

SOLV Energy seeks an EPC Project Manager to oversee all phases of utility-scale solar construction in Harrisburg, IL. This full-time, onsite role manages large labor crews, project schedules, budgets, procurement, and stakeholder coordination across major photovoltaic installations. Extensive travel, including extended jobsite assignments in remote areas, is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage significant self-performed work scopes with large labor crews, including sequencing, crew sizing, productivity targets, and monthly labor spend forecasting
• Track actual production results, adjust forecasts based on field performance, and refine cost and schedule estimates
• Coordinate with superintendent to develop and implement site safety plans and procedures
• Oversee project billing preparation and cash flow optimization; manage aged receivables and present status in owner meetings
• Prepare, negotiate, and resolve change orders with owners for timely closure
• Negotiate and execute subcontracts and material purchase agreements cost-effectively
• Establish and enforce job procedures for timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material delivery
• Maintain accurate, timely reporting to management on cost forecasting, budget performance, and estimated costs at completion
• Supervise and mentor project team members; support professional development and career growth
• Review contract terms and ensure full compliance
• Document significant project events including accidents, delays, and change orders
• Direct preconstruction activities and services
• Identify project risks, evaluate probability and severity, and develop mitigation strategies with operations management
• Develop and implement Site-Specific Quality Management Plan (SSQMP); maintain quality control standards
• Manage project close-out procedures and coordinate warranty follow-up (typically two years)
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors; develop partnership strategies while protecting contractual rights
• Coordinate with material suppliers on delivery schedules and supply-chain solutions
• Negotiate staffing resources and terms with local contract labor providers
• Organize and lead regular meetings with owners and key project partners

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture (preferred)
• 5–8 years of field construction management experience, including supervisory responsibilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and industry-standard software (e.g., Bluebeam Revu)
• CMiC experience (preferred)
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
• Thorough understanding of project management control systems: scheduling, cost control, procurement, and estimating
• Demonstrated knowledge of utility-scale PV plant construction methods, sequencing, and techniques
• Understanding of utility interconnection and ISO sequencing timelines
• Ability to travel extensively (minimum 50%), including lengthy onsite assignments in remote/rural areas
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship

Compensation: $110,448–$138,060 annually
