Job Description

SOLV Energy seeks a Senior Project Engineer for a full-time, on-site role in Holbrook, AZ. You will manage Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project documentation, quality assurance, and coordination on a utility-scale infrastructure project. This position reports to the Superintendent and supports project delivery from pre-construction planning through close-out.

Responsibilities

  • Attend and document project meetings; prepare, distribute, and maintain meeting minutes
  • Establish and manage project filing systems, drawings, specifications, and logbooks
  • Distribute technical documentation and specifications to subcontractors
  • Record non-conformance reports in project management software and track corrective actions to closure
  • Develop and execute site-specific QA/QC inspection checklists for field work
  • Conduct QA/QC inspections on battery storage, electrical, structural, and site work components
  • Prepare pre-task planning documentation for work packages and staged construction phases
  • Conduct and document Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPP) inspections
  • Evaluate field issues, prepare Request for Information (RFI) documents, and coordinate submittals to engineering and the Superintendent
  • Review and track RFI and submittal logs through completion
  • Compile and organize progress photography and documentation for weekly and monthly project reporting
  • Maintain current redline drawings and permitting documents for Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) coordination
  • Collect and file third-party testing reports and equipment calibration certifications
  • Compile contract close-out documentation including as-built drawings, OEM manuals, and job books
  • Document and manage punch-list items through sign-off
  • Mentor and train junior Project Engineers
  • Support development of field Standard Work Instructions and quality standards across the department
  • Provide administrative and technical support to the Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture; or completion of an accredited Construction Management Certificate Program; or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on Project Engineer experience on construction or infrastructure projects
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from construction plans and technical specifications
  • Basic estimating and project scheduling skills
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications and project management software
  • Drafting skills or experience with CAD software (desirable)
  • Demonstrated written and verbal English communication skills
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship

Compensation: $90,468 – $113,085 annually, based on experience.
