EPC Project Manager, Utility Scale Solar (Tonopah, AZ)

SOLV Energy, an infrastructure services provider for utility-scale solar, battery storage, and high-voltage substation projects, seeks an EPC Project Manager for a full-time, on-site role in Tonopah, AZ. You will oversee all phases of utility-scale solar construction—from planning and budgeting through close-out—managing large labor crews, coordinating with owners and subcontractors, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within cost targets. Extensive travel and remote jobsite assignments are required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage significant scopes of utility-scale PV construction work with large labor crews
• Develop sequencing plans, crew sizes, productivity targets, and monthly labor budgets
• Track actual performance against forecasts and adjust projections to reflect production results
• Collaborate with superintendent to develop and implement site-specific safety plans and procedures
• Oversee project billing preparation, cash flow management, and aged receivable collection
• Negotiate and present change orders to the owner for timely resolution
• Source and negotiate cost-effective subcontracts and material purchases
• Establish job procedures to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approvals, and material delivery
• Monitor project schedule adherence and coordinate with material suppliers and labor providers
• Maintain accurate and timely cost forecasting, budget tracking, and estimated cost-at-completion reporting
• Manage, train, and supervise project team; mentor junior staff on professional development
• Review contract terms and ensure full compliance throughout project execution
• Document significant project events including accidents, delays, and change orders
• Direct preconstruction services and activities; prepare and issue subcontract bid packages
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks; develop and execute risk mitigation plans
• Develop and implement Site-Specific Quality Management Plan (SSQMP); maintain quality control standards
• Manage claims avoidance and conflict resolution strategies
• Execute all job close-out procedures and conduct two-year warranty follow-up
• Organize and lead regular coordination meetings with owner, architect, and key project partners
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with owner, design team, and subcontractors

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture preferred
• 5–8 years of field construction management experience with supervisory responsibility
• Proficiency with MS Office suite and industry-standard software (e.g., Bluebeam Revu)
• CMiC experience a plus
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
• Thorough understanding of project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement, estimating)
• Strong understanding of utility-scale PV plant construction means, methods, sequencing, and techniques
• Knowledge of utility and ISO interconnection sequences and timelines
• Ability to travel extensively (minimum 50%) and sustain lengthy jobsite assignments in remote/rural areas

Salary: $110,448 – $138,060 annually
