Job Description

Rosendin Electric seeks a Solar Laborer for its Abilene, TX location to support installation, assembly, and maintenance of commercial and industrial photovoltaic systems. This entry-level to early-career role involves hands-on work with solar panels, racking systems, mounting structures, and electrical components under the supervision of experienced Foremen, with all work performed to NEC standards and company safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installing and assembling solar panels, racking systems, mounting structures, and related electrical components according to blueprints and schematics
  • Perform wire pulling and conduit installation
  • Safely operate basic construction site equipment and hand/power tools
  • Follow all Rosendin safety policies and procedures, including fall protection, electrical safety, and rooftop safety standards
  • Communicate with Foremen and crew members to support project coordination and productivity

Requirements

  • Entry-level experience or exposure to electrical construction, solar installation, or related trades (commercial electrical experience preferred but not required)
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, wiring methods, and construction tools
  • Ability and willingness to learn how to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and construction plans
  • Familiarity with NEC standards and electrical safety practices preferred
  • Experience working on construction sites preferred
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools; forklift or equipment experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. from the ground and pull 50 lbs. of force
  • Must have use of feet, legs, hands, and arms to climb and/or balance on ladders
  • Must have use of arms, hands, and fingers to reach, handle, and feel cable, wires, tools, and other equipment
  • Must be able to work off ladders without fear of heights
  • Corrected or uncorrected vision (both close and distant) and hearing adequate to perform job duties
  • Ability to walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis
  • Ability to maintain a standing position for long periods while performing repetitive actions such as grasping or manipulating wires
