Job Description

Pearce Services, a leading provider of asset management and technical services for mission-critical infrastructure across North America, is hiring a Telecommunications Lead Installer - Level IV in Reno, Nevada. This role involves directing installation, reconfiguration, removal, and maintenance of Central Office equipment—including transmission, power, infrastructure, and fiber systems—with minimal supervision and oversight of assigned crew members.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all Level IV installation duties per Telco Standard TP76300 with mastery and accuracy as a working lead supervising assigned team members
  • Execute comprehensive equipment installation on AC/DC power systems, low/high-density fiber systems, Central Office infrastructure, and supervisory/alarm systems
  • Install telecommunications equipment cabinets, frames, data servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, and firewalls
  • Install cable trays and racking per engineering drawings and documentation
  • Install BDFBs and fuse panels with associated cabling
  • Identify, label, measure, terminate, and route AC/DC power and data transmission cables throughout technical spaces
  • Conduct system testing and document performance characteristics; verify efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing infrastructure
  • Perform advanced test and turn-up activities and system integration tasks
  • Resolve equipment and technical issues as they arise
  • Supervise lower-level installers and technicians in basic installation and testing
  • Perform in-process and final quality audits to ensure compliance with industry and customer standards
  • Generate Methods of Procedures (MOPs), high-risk activity reports, work schedules, test records, and project completion reports
  • Review subordinate time and expense documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Physically place, remove, or modify working and non-working equipment
  • Interface with customers, vendors, engineering, and project management to complete, test, and turn up equipment
  • Update all company and customer installation documentation as required
  • Resolve project-related issues utilizing defined processes

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of telecommunications installation experience, or equivalent combination of experience and training as determined by company management
  • Prior leadership and project supervision experience required
  • High school diploma plus two years of technical school, or equivalent combination of training and field installation experience
  • Mastery of installation techniques per Telco Standard TP76300
  • Hands-on knowledge of transport equipment including Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, DELL, Juniper, and similar platforms
  • Deep understanding of fiber installation standards and procedures
  • Ability to read and follow Methods of Procedures, order specifications, floor plans, equipment schematics, and wiring documentation
  • Proficient laptop computer skills and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) experience
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment background checks and insurability review
  • Ability to lift vertically 50 lbs; ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and crawl in tight spaces
  • Must be able to travel extensively within home region and throughout the US without restrictions; ability to work various shifts
  • Compliance with all OSHA standards required
  • AT&T direct Central Office installation experience preferred
  • Valid passport preferred
  • International travel capability preferred
