Job Description

Pearce Services is hiring a Telecommunications Lead Installer—Level IV in Fresno, California, to direct installation, reconfiguration, removal, and maintenance of central office equipment including transmission, power, infrastructure, and fiber systems. This lead role includes supervision of assigned crew members and requires minimal outside direction.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all Telco Standard TP76300 installation skills at Level IV competency as a working lead overseeing assigned team members
  • Install and maintain AC/DC power systems, low- and high-density fiber systems, central office infrastructure, and supervisory/alarm systems
  • Install telecommunications equipment cabinets, frames, data servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, and firewalls
  • Install cable trays and racking from engineering drawings and documentation
  • Install BDFBs and fuse panels with associated cabling
  • Identify, label, measure, terminate, and route AC/DC power cables and data transmission cables in technical spaces
  • Conduct equipment and system testing; document performance characteristics and verify compatibility with existing infrastructure
  • Perform advanced test, turn-up, and system integration activities
  • Perform quality validation on in-process and completed work; conduct final quality audits to industry and customer standards
  • Supervise lower-level installers and technicians in basic installation and testing tasks
  • Resolve equipment and technical issues as they arise during projects
  • Generate and maintain Method of Procedures (MOPs), high-risk activity reports, work schedules, test records, and project completion reports
  • Review subordinates' time and expense documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Physically place, remove, and modify working and non-working equipment
  • Interface with customers, vendors, engineering, and project management teams to complete installation, testing, and equipment turn-up

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of telecommunications installation experience or combination of experience and training
  • Prior leadership experience required
  • High school diploma plus two years of technical school or equivalent combination of training and telecommunications field installation experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of transport equipment including Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, DELL, and Juniper systems
  • Deep understanding of fiber installation standards and procedures
  • Ability to read and follow Method of Procedures, order specifications, floor plans, equipment diagrams, and wiring documentation
  • Proficient laptop computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment background checks and insurability screening
  • Able to vertically lift 50 lbs and stand, walk, climb ladders, and crawl in tight spaces
  • Required travel throughout home region and across the US without restrictions; ability to work various shifts
  • Extensive travel required; ability to travel internationally is a plus
  • Compliance with OSHA standards required
  • Valid passport a plus
  • AT&T direct central office installation experience a plus
