Job Description

Pearce Services, a leading provider of technical maintenance and engineering services for mission-critical infrastructure across North America, is hiring a Telecommunications Lead Installer - Level IV in Sacramento, California. This role involves directing and performing installation, reconfiguration, removal, and maintenance of central office equipment including transmission, power, infrastructure, and fiber systems, with supervision of assigned crew members.

Responsibilities

  • Master all installation skills per Telco Standard TP76300 and perform all Level IV Installer duties with high competence as a working lead with assigned team members
  • Install and maintain AC/DC power systems, low/high-density fiber systems, central office infrastructure, and supervisory/alarm systems
  • Place, remove, and modify working and non-working equipment
  • Install cable trays and racking from engineering drawings and documentation
  • Install telecommunications equipment cabinets, frames, data servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, and firewalls
  • Install BDFBs and fuse panels with associated cabling
  • Identify, label, measure, terminate, and physically route AC/DC power and data transmission cables throughout technical spaces
  • Conduct testing and document performance characteristics of hardware and software; determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems
  • Perform advanced test, turn-up, and integration activities
  • Resolve equipment and technical issues as they arise
  • Supervise lower-level installers and technicians in basic installation and testing requirements
  • Perform in-process and final quality audits to ensure all work meets or exceeds industry and customer standards
  • Generate Methods of Procedures (MOPs), high-risk activity reports, work schedules, test records, and project completion reports
  • Review subordinate time and expense documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain compliance with company and customer installation documents and system updates

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of telecommunications installation experience or combination of experience and training as determined by company management
  • Prior leadership experience required
  • High school diploma with two years of technical school or equivalent combination of training and experience in telecommunications field installations
  • AT&T direct central office installation experience preferred
  • Proficiency with transport equipment including Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, DELL, and Juniper
  • Deep understanding of fiber installation standards and procedures
  • Ability to read and follow Methods of Procedures, order specifications, floor plans, equipment, and wiring documentation
  • Proficient laptop computer skills and experience with applications
  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass all pre-employment background checks and insurability verification
  • Valid passport preferred
  • Ability to vertically lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and crawl in tight spaces
  • Travel required in home region and throughout the US without restrictions; ability to work a variety of shifts and travel extensively
  • Ability to travel internationally preferred
  • OSHA standards compliance required
