Job Description

IGS Energy seeks a Solar Installation Technician for residential PV system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting in Columbus, OH. This role involves rooftop and ground-level work, collaboration with electricians and project leadership, and independent execution of repairs and maintenance tasks while meeting OSHA safety standards and quality benchmarks.

Responsibilities

  • Install photovoltaic systems according to design specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and company standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform inspections and testing to verify system performance and regulatory compliance
  • Execute solo maintenance and repair tasks with minimal supervision
  • Collaborate with electricians, project managers, roof leads, and foremen on project execution
  • Document work completed, materials used, and system specifications for each project
  • Follow OSHA safety guidelines and company policies

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of hands-on solar installation experience (residential or commercial)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Enphase and SolarEdge certification
  • NABCEP certification or equivalent (preferred)
  • OSHA certifications (preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work at heights on rooftops and ladders
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • U.S. work authorization on a full-time basis; sponsorship not available
