IGS Energy seeks a Solar Installation Technician for residential PV system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting in Columbus, OH. This role involves rooftop and ground-level work, collaboration with electricians and project leadership, and independent execution of repairs and maintenance tasks while meeting OSHA safety standards and quality benchmarks.
Responsibilities
- Install photovoltaic systems according to design specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and company standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions to ensure optimal performance
- Perform inspections and testing to verify system performance and regulatory compliance
- Execute solo maintenance and repair tasks with minimal supervision
- Collaborate with electricians, project managers, roof leads, and foremen on project execution
- Document work completed, materials used, and system specifications for each project
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines and company policies
Requirements
- 1–3 years of hands-on solar installation experience (residential or commercial)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Enphase and SolarEdge certification
- NABCEP certification or equivalent (preferred)
- OSHA certifications (preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work at heights on rooftops and ladders
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- U.S. work authorization on a full-time basis; sponsorship not available
