Estimator I - BESS - Battery Storage

Primoris Renewable Energy seeks an Estimator I to support the battery energy storage systems (BESS) estimating team in Denver, CO. You will work under the guidance of Lead Estimators and the Estimating Manager to develop cost, schedule, and scope estimates for utility-scale energy storage projects, gaining hands-on experience in complex BESS construction estimating while building competency across all estimate components.

Responsibilities

• Support BESS Lead Estimators in developing conceptual and final hard-bid estimates for utility-scale energy storage projects
• Estimate small portions of overall BESS projects under close supervision
• Participate in meeting minutes documentation and action item tracking
• Maintain document control and review estimating departmental reports
• Conduct cost analyses, time studies, and other assigned projects under direction from the BESS Estimating Manager and Director of Estimating
• Travel to project sites to observe construction progress, build relationships with site personnel, and perform time studies
• Review and collaborate on project and client documentation
• Present estimates to leadership, demonstrating competency of estimate components and supporting documentation

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience estimating industrial electrical construction projects
• Bachelor's degree in business or engineering (preferred)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general personal computer software applications
• Demonstrated written communication skills, including ability to compose technical documents, formal letters, and invoices
• Demonstrated oral communication skills and ability to present to groups
• Working knowledge of project accounting practices and financial systems
• General understanding of Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus, and Unit contract pricing mechanisms
• Experience in solar, renewable energy, energy storage, or power generation (preferred)
