Job Description

Moss Construction, a nationally ranked solar EPC and construction management firm, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support preconstruction activities for utility-scale solar projects. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this role bridges proposal development, project coordination, and client management during the early stages of solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) delivery. This position is structured as a developmental track toward full Project Manager responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses by analyzing requirements, developing strategies, and aligning contributions from Engineering, Procurement, Estimating, and Operations teams
  • Develop and maintain proposal templates, reusable content libraries, and pricing assumptions to support accuracy and efficiency
  • Interface with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify technical deliverables and respond to proposal questions
  • Support development and review of baseline schedules, drawing logs, general conditions estimates, and proposal exhibits
  • Coordinate project due diligence activities including site assessments, geotechnical reports, and utility locates
  • Maintain and track RFI logs, preconstruction budgets, exhibit trackers, and proposal submittals
  • Facilitate and document Owner coordination meetings during preconstruction phases
  • Prepare weekly internal and external progress reports summarizing open items, risks, and schedule status
  • Assist in development and review of Limited Notices to Proceed, Early Works Agreements, and Owner contract exhibits
  • Perform preliminary cash flow analysis tracking schedule impacts, early deposits, and procurement lead times
  • Support permitting timelines, submittal requirements, and agency communications
  • Coordinate procurement and resource acquisition schedules aligned with project milestones
  • Identify and recommend process improvements for preconstruction tools and coordination strategies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, business, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in utility-scale solar EPC or related preconstruction and project support roles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Smartsheet, Primavera P6, BlueBeam, or estimating software such as HCSS Heavy Bid (preferred)
  • Strong organizational and writing skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in deadline-driven environments
  • Basic technical knowledge of utility-scale solar design, performance modeling, and construction methods
  • Willingness to relocate to South Florida
