Job Description

Primoris Renewable Energy seeks a Mechanical General Foreman to oversee on-site construction supervision for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems projects in Texas. You will manage multiple foremen and technical leads, coordinate labor and materials scheduling, enforce safety protocols, and ensure work meets specifications and contract requirements with independent decision-making authority.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct all foremen and technical leads on-site; ensure adherence to company policies, state, and federal regulations
  • Schedule equipment, materials, and tools to maximize production and minimize costs
  • Collaborate with Trade Superintendent on scheduled activities, process improvements, and staffing decisions (hiring, promotion, discipline, termination)
  • Establish and communicate project specifications and craftsmanship expectations to craft workers, vendors, subcontractors, and site personnel
  • Manage safe working conditions and enforce company, jobsite-specific, federal, and state safety regulations; oversee employee training for work methods, crane operations, DOT requirements, LOTO, arc flash, and electrical safety hazards
  • Provide formal and informal coaching feedback to foremen and field engineers
  • Act as technical consultant for civil and mechanical construction work to all field personnel
  • Verify construction activities and engineering conform to project Quality Plan and Work Methods
  • Compare labor and equipment production to job estimates; inform Trade Superintendent of cost overruns
  • Maintain and update crew and equipment matrixes and Operations Analysis
  • Mentor Field Coordinators, Field Engineers, and Foremen on work discipline, production costs, scope, quality, and safety
  • Familiarize yourself with site conditions and scope of work per contract

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle driving record
  • Previous utility-scale BESS, solar, substation, high-voltage, or related construction management experience
  • Ability to read and understand prints and contract documents
  • Knowledge of federal and state codes applicable to the project
  • Thorough knowledge of tools and equipment uses and limitations
  • May be required to obtain a journeyman or master electrician license or other company contract-specific qualification
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work at heights or in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel)
  • Ability to wear a respirator and other PPE when required
  • Must comply with client safety requirements (e.g., clean-shaven, long sleeves, steel-toe boots)
  • Relocation to project site community required
