BESS Electrical Field Engineer

Moss Construction, a national construction firm ranked among the top solar contractors in the U.S., seeks a BESS Electrical Field Engineer to support utility-scale battery energy storage and solar projects in Florida. In this role, you will assist the Electrical Assistant and Electrical Project Manager with the administrative and technical oversight of large projects, coordinating all aspects from mobilization through completion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project startup including contract review, site utilization planning, mobilization coordination, subcontractor and vendor selection, and construction schedule development
• Expedite materials by developing submittal logs, establishing fabrication and delivery schedules, conducting submittal reviews, monitoring off-site storage, and verifying fabrication status
• Conduct quality control inspections and verify field installations for electrical systems and racking components
• Maintain activity tracking logs, participate in daily superintendent meetings and jobsite meetings, and assist with agency inspections
• Process subcontractor and vendor pay requests and assist with tracking project costs and labor reports
• Administer the RFI process, prepare meeting minutes and agendas, and maintain jobsite files and documentation
• Support the change order process by creating change requests, reviewing scope changes, determining schedule impacts, and preparing cost proposals
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, company policies, and contract requirements across all project activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum six months to one year of full-time experience as a project engineer or assistant project engineer in construction, or equivalent solar internship experience
• Proficiency with construction project management software applications
• Basic finance and cost tracking skills
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds regularly; occasionally handle heavier loads with assistance
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions, at elevated heights, around moving mechanical parts, and in loud noise environments
