Job Description
Moss Construction, a nationally ranked solar EPC and construction management firm, seeks a Senior Electrical Superintendent to oversee field execution of utility-scale solar projects across multiple states. You will manage multiple concurrent projects, lead and mentor superintendents, coordinate with engineering and procurement teams, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance. This role requires extensive travel and reports to the Vice President of Electrical Field Operations.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, organize, and direct construction of utility-scale solar projects from field execution through closeout
- Manage multiple projects concurrently; supervise direct-report Superintendents and coordinate work performed by company forces and subcontractors
- Interface with project owners on resource planning, scheduling, and program-level coordination
- Work with Project Management on subcontract administration and support Superintendents in owner discussions
- Mentor and manage performance reviews for direct reports
- Develop, distribute, and enforce best practices for electrical field operations
- Create and monitor safety initiatives and ensure compliance with safety and quality control policies
- Support electrical Superintendents in project scheduling and coordinate shared resource allocation across the portfolio
- Coordinate with QC, commissioning, and substation departments on resource expectations
- Manage budget and schedule reporting; support Project Executive in change discussions
- Participate in front-end design involvement and internal design review coordination
- Coordinate with Pre-Construction on site visits and assist with estimation of upcoming projects
- Interview and onboard salaried personnel
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred
- 5+ years' experience as General Superintendent on utility-scale solar projects
- Journeyman or Master electrician license (including NASCLA or equivalent credential demonstrating electrical proficiency), or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- STS-C Certification at minimum, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple direct reports and leading project teams
- Availability for high travel across multiple states
